[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] South Korean fashion company HANDSOME reported lackluster earnings for the second quarter of 2025, citing a prolonged slump in domestic consumption and adverse weather conditions as key factors behind its performance.
According to a regulatory filing on August 4, HANDSOME posted an operating profit of KRW 700 million on a consolidated basis for Q2, marking an 82.0% drop compared to the same period last year.
Sales for the quarter came in at KRW 338.1 billion, down 1.1% year-on-year.
A company representative stated, “The decline in both revenue and operating profit was largely driven by prolonged weakness in domestic fashion consumption and unseasonal weather patterns.” However, the spokesperson added that “the online division showed slight year-over-year growth, supported by an increase in new customer acquisition and average transaction value.”
