[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] South Korea has introduced a new service allowing users to access government administrative services through AI chat agents on Naver and Kakao platforms.
According to the IT industry on March 10, Naver and Kakao participated in the launch ceremony for the “AI Government Assistant” pilot service hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on March 9.
The service enables users to request administrative services through simple conversations within widely used private apps such as the Naver app and KakaoTalk, without installing a separate application.
Through the AI assistant, users can handle tasks related to more than 100 types of electronic certificates, including resident registration records and health insurance eligibility certificates.
Users can also search for and reserve more than 1,200 public facilities nationwide, such as sports venues and meeting rooms.
The government plans to expand the service to provide personalized administrative information based on life events, such as birth, relocation, and starting a business.
