[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) under the Financial Services Commission will launch an investigation into allegations that Wemix is operating without reporting its activities, including wallet and service industries.

Wemix is a virtual currency with a market capitalization of KRW 1 trillion, and as there are many domestic users, it is expected to have a significant impact on the virtual asset industry depending on whether the financial authorities will release it in the future.

According to the financial sector on the 13th, the Digital Asset Exchange Joint Consultative Body (DAXA, Doc) recently delivered 'unreported virtual business information' related to Wemix to FIU.

The suspicion delivered to FIU is that Wemix is conducting business with "PLAY WALLET" and "PNIX DEX" unreported.

Play Wallet is the name of the Wemix Mainnet wallet made by Wemade. Currently, under related laws, wallet service providers only provide programs that store and store personal encryption keys, but do not have independent control, so if they are not involved in the sale or purchase exchange, they are not considered illegal even if they do not report their business.

In the virtual asset industry, if FIU judges Play Wallet and others as unreported businesses, there is a possibility that the trading of Wemix, which is currently listed on the won exchange, may be suspended.
