[Alpha Biz= Ellie Kim] Coupang Inc. reported first-quarter revenue of KRW 12.4 trillion (USD 8.5 billion), up 8% year-on-year, according to its May 5 earnings release.

However, the company posted an operating loss of KRW 354.5 billion (USD 242 million), reversing from an operating profit of KRW 233.7 billion a year earlier.

Net loss for the quarter came in at KRW 389.7 billion (USD 266 million), reflecting a decline in overall profitability despite continued top-line growth.
