[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Starting next month, the national pension premium for office workers who receive monthly salaries of more than 5.9 million won will be raised. On a personal basis, it will rise by at least KRW 0 to KRW 12,000 per month.

However, the more insurance you pay, the more pension you receive in your old age.

According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 11th, the upper and lower limit of the standard monthly income, which imposes national pension premiums, will be revised from July in line with the average income change rate (4.5%) of all subscribers of the national pension fund over the past three years.

The upper limit of the standard monthly income will be raised from 5.9 million won to 6.17 million won and the lower limit from 370,000 won to 390,000 won, respectively. This standard will be applied for a year until June next year.

The upper limit of 6.17 million won means that even if you earn more than 6.17 million won a month, you will be charged insurance premiums, considering that your monthly income is 6.17 million won.

As the ceiling on monthly base income is raised, workers who receive monthly salaries between the existing upper limit of KRW 5.9 million per month and the new upper limit of KRW 6.17 million per month will see their pension premiums rise between KRW 0 and KRW 12,150 per month from July, depending on their income.

In particular, workers with a monthly income of 6.17 million won or more will see their personal pension premiums rise by 12,150 won per month from 265,500 won per month to 277,650 won per month. In the case of office workers, the pension premium will be raised by 24,300 won per month, which is twice as much as the pension premium as the company.
