[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Namyang Dairy announced the transfer of its ice cream brand 'Baekmidang' to its subsidiary, Baekmidang I&C, in a move to enhance competitiveness.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service on the 23rd, Baekmidang I&C, a subsidiary of Namyang Dairy, will acquire the business rights to the Baekmidang brand from its parent company. The transfer will take the form of a capital contribution in kind, with the scheduled date set for December 31st. However, this date may change depending on court approval. The transaction value is set at 14.193 billion KRW.

Following this transfer, Baekmidang I&C will gain the exclusive right to independently operate the business. Baekmidang I&C, established in September as a subsidiary of Namyang Dairy, is fully owned by Namyang Dairy.

Currently part of Namyang Dairy's restaurant division, Baekmidang will be operated as a separate entity following the transfer.
