[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] LG Innotek announced on March 30 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with U.S.-based autonomous driving software company Applied Intuition to enhance its capabilities in next-generation mobility solutions.
Applied Intuition specializes in autonomous driving software and simulation tools and counts 18 of the world’s top 20 automakers among its clients, according to LG Innotek. Under the partnership, LG Innotek plans to equip Applied Intuition’s test vehicles with its autonomous sensing modules.
Through this collaboration, LG Innotek aims to collect large-scale real-world driving data—including road infrastructure, traffic patterns, and climate conditions across different regions—to further improve the technical performance and reliability of its sensing modules.
The company will also integrate its proprietary “Virtual Sensor” technology into Applied Intuition’s simulation platform. This will enable the creation of a comprehensive sensor suite encompassing cameras, LiDAR, and radar, allowing automakers to access high-fidelity data comparable to real-world driving environments.
Beyond autonomous vehicles, the two companies plan to expand their cooperation into emerging sectors such as drones and robotics.
Moon Hyuk-soo, CEO of LG Innotek, said, “Through our collaboration with Applied Intuition, we will deliver differentiated solutions that set new standards in autonomous driving,” adding that the company aims to lead the era of physical AI in mobility and robotics sensing.
