[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Doosan Enerbility has secured another steam turbine supply contract in the United States, accelerating its push into the North American power generation market.
The company announced on May 27 that it signed a deal with a U.S. firm to supply four 370MW-class steam turbines and generators. Steam turbines play a key role in combined-cycle power plants by utilizing waste heat from gas turbines to generate additional electricity, improving efficiency and supply stability.
Doosan Enerbility plans to deliver the equipment sequentially to Texas through 2029. This marks its second steam turbine order in North America following a previous contract in March.
While financial details and the client were not disclosed, industry sources speculate that the project may be linked to xAI, founded by Elon Musk.
The company aims to strengthen partnerships with local power developers and further expand its presence in the region, where demand for high-efficiency combined-cycle power is rising amid growing AI data center expansion and electricity needs.
