[Alpha Biz= Reporter Lee Jun-hyun] It has been belatedly revealed that prosecutors conducted a raid on DIT (CEO Park Jong-cheol), a company well-known as an SK Hynix partner.

According to Alpha Biz's investigation on the 11th, prosecutors carried out a surprise raid at DIT's headquarters in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on the 9th of last month. This was in connection with allegations of stealing laser annealing technology from Company A.

Company A, which holds key laser annealing technology, is recognized for its technological prowess, supplying products to major companies like TSMC and Samsung Electronics.

 

An insider familiar with the prosecution's investigation stated, "The prosecution suspects there may be a larger entity behind the alleged theft of the laser annealing technology," and added that attention is focused on whether the investigation will expand after the analysis of the seized materials.

The laser annealing technology at the center of the raid is reportedly a result of a joint development effort between DIT and SK Hynix over the past four years. 

 

Last year, DIT secured the quality test (qualification) for its laser annealing technology from SK Hynix and began supplying equipment to Hynix's HBM mass production line.

According to DIT's filings with the Financial Supervisory Service, the company recently signed a semiconductor equipment supply contract worth approximately 12.9 billion won with SK Hynix, and it will deliver the equipment by December.

Considering maintenance and ASP (average selling price), around two to three units are estimated to have been supplied. Alpha Economy made several inquiries regarding this matter, but DIT has not issued an official statement.
