[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A sudden power outage occurred early on Dec. 23 at the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster construction site in Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, temporarily halting work. The site has since fully resumed operations.

The outage, which affected power, water supply, and communications, forced workers who had arrived on site to either return home or wait, causing confusion. SK Ecoplant, the construction contractor, conducted emergency repairs and restored power. The exact cause of the outage is still under investigation.

According to an SK Ecoplant spokesperson, “The power outage occurred early in the morning but has now been fully resolved. Workers who had been sent home have returned, and construction activities are proceeding normally.”

The Yongin site is part of SK Hynix’s massive semiconductor production complex, developed with an investment of 60 trillion KRW, and is considered a key national strategic industrial hub.
