[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Police in Anseong launched a search of Coupang logistics centers after receiving a report claiming that explosives had been planted, but nothing suspicious was found.

The Anseong Police Station reported that at 2:01 p.m. on the 24th, it received a text message through the Daegu Police Agency’s 112 hotline stating that “explosives have been planted at the Coupang logistics center in Anseong.”

The message also demanded a payment of 500 million won (approximately $380,000) by 8 p.m. the same day, including a specific bank account number.

Following a coordination request from the Daegu Police Agency, Anseong police deployed a special task force and an explosive ordnance disposal team to search three Coupang logistics centers in Wongok, Juksan, and Iljuk-myeon. No explosives were found.

Police maintained a presence at the sites until 8:30 p.m., as a precaution, but no unusual activity was observed.

During the six-hour search, around 870 employees working at the three logistics centers suspended operations and left the premises. Coupang said it would transfer processing to nearby centers to avoid disruptions in deliveries.

Authorities are investigating the individual responsible for the threatening message.
