[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, October 15 — The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it has concluded deliberations on allegations that major online subscription platforms — including Netflix, Watcha, Spotify, Coupang, Naver, and Market Kurly — hindered consumers from canceling their subscription services.

The FTC explained that the decision to “terminate deliberation procedures” means the commission’s panel (equivalent to a first-instance court) determined that the evidence submitted by investigators was insufficient to establish any legal violation.

While this decision is distinct from a “no-violation ruling,” it effectively carries the same outcome for the companies involved, as the FTC did not find grounds to impose sanctions or determine illegality.
